If yesterday was London Surprises - today was London Wow! It began with - WOW, it's more expensive to travel during the week than on the weekend and even more expensive to do so before 7 a.m. It was twice the cost for 4 of us today than it was for 6 of us on Sunday. WOW!
We were heading off on a day trip to Bath, Stonehenge and Windsor Castle. At Bath the WOW was drinking Bath water on purpose. The water contains 43 minerals and comes out at 120 degrees. For 50 pence we could drink some and so we did because we could. It was interesting.
Stonehenge was WOW because it's intriguing to think about the work that went in to carting those stones to the spot, setting them up so precisely, the fact that the sun really does set right over a certain stone at a certain time of the year. The sad part was observing a couple of Druids meditating and "worshiping", lost without a path to God.
Windsor Castle was WOW as we observed some of how the 1 tenth of one percent live. It is a stunning castle dating back to William the Conqueror in 1066. It was fascinating to walk through.
Last night and then again tonight we met up with a new friend from Estonia, Hindrek Taavet, who will be entering Asbury Seminary in just a few weeks. We've exchanged some contact info and look forward to connecting.
It's home tomorrow - rest - do laundry - and for me packing again for Indianapolis for Junior National Swimming.
I have been so grateful to get to be here. Grateful to the Lilly Foundation. Grateful for an awesome church in Cornerstone. THANK YOU!
